Good Morning all,

As most of you would be aware, applications for the following Office for Recreation & Sport Grants Program are currently open:

·         Active Club Program

·         Community Recreation & Sport Facilities Program

·         Female Facilities Program.

As part of the application process, clubs need either a Land Owner Consent Form or Council Support Form signed by Council staff.  If your club is submitting an application to any of these funding programs, please read the instructions below:

FOR LAND OWNER CONSENT: Please send your completed grant application to myself by Thursday 6th April.   Once I’ve had a read through & discussed with our Property Team, we will complete the form & send directly to the Office for Recreation & Sport on your behalf.

FOR COUNCIL SUPPORT: Please send your completed grant application to myself by Thursday 6th April.  Once I’ve had a read through, we will complete the form & send directly to the Office for Recreation & Sport on your behalf.

Please note that Council will only send the consent / support forms to the Office for Rec & Sport, you are responsible for submitting your grant application.  Unfortunately, due to the number of applications that we have to review, we will not be able to send forms back to you in time for submission.  Just mark the form in the application with ‘Will receive directly from Council”.

If you have any questions regarding this process, please feel free to give me a call on the numbers listed below.

More information on the grants can be found here:

Tennis Survey. Can you assist Jayden with his Year 12 Research Project by doing a short survey?

News  Comments Off on Tennis Survey. Can you assist Jayden with his Year 12 Research Project by doing a short survey?
Feb 222017

The link for my survey is and following is a message that could go in the email sent out:

This survey is in regards to Jayden White from Cornerstone College who is currently completing his Year 12 Research Project. This short 10 question survey will only take a few minutes to complete and is about how injuries have affected you as a tennis player. He wishes for you to answer in as much detail and truthfully as you can as this will be of greater help in his research. He is greatly appreciative of all that will respond to this survey.

I was also wondering if it was at all possible that the link could be posted on the HTA website.

Hi Senior Players!

If you feel as though the end of the summer season is coming around way too quickly, why not consider nominating a team in Tennis SA’s Winter Penant Competition? All levels of competition are included and it means you don’t have to say goodbye to your racquet for 6 months – just keep playing YEAR ROUND!!

Here’s a link to Tennis SA’s page that gives more info.

Clubs wishing to enter teams will need to nominate and organise this themselves.

Hello Club Presidents and Secretaries

Can you believe it’s February already!  For those sentimentalists like me, having Roger win the Australian Open was fantastic.  Tennis looks so easy when viewed from my lounge, unfortunately I can’t quite seem to translate that onto the court.

Now that the biggest show in Aus is over, it’s time to turn our attention back to our own clubs.

Reminder to “Register your players on MY TENNIS” or no Personal Accident Insurance

Now we are in the second half of the season it is extremely important to ensure all your members are registered in My Tennis.  Affiliation has great benefits, one being insurance, as stated in your 2016/17 Affiliation Program brochure:

“All player participants and volunteers that are updated and registered on My Tennis for the 2016/17 Affiliation Year, will automatically be covered for Personal Accident insurance and will have access to all Tennis SA member benefits for the 2016/17 Affiliation Year.”  Make sure you protect the interests of your members by registering them in My Tennis.

To ensure your data base has correct information please encourage your members to “Join” tennis and create their own profile.  Members can do this by clicking on the link from – Find a court – enter your club name and Join this club.  If you can’t find your club membership page call or email me for assistance.  It is a very quick and easy process for members to pay their club fees and will save you a lot of time as you won’t need to manually register players.

For clubs that are persevering with manual registration forms, if you require assistance using the bulk registration spreadsheet please let me know.

TennisConnect Rewards

Need to raise more funds for the club? There is a fantastic way and all you need to do is to set up a couple of steps in My Tennis to receive TennisConnect Rewards of $5 for every qualifying member with a Tennis Account. For more information on how to set this up at your club, click here to view the Support Page or contact me if you have any questions.  Definitely a nice incentive for your members to register.  No other sport offers a financial reward for registering their members and I encourage clubs to take advantage of it while it exists.  Members must have created their own Tennis Account before May 2017.

Club Visit

It would be great to catch up with all clubs before the summer season finishes.  If you could email through a couple of times and dates that suit and I will be in touch to confirm my visit.

STARCLUB is a fantastic Club Development tool.  Tennis SA has taken a lot of the hard work out of it for you and developed a STARCLUB guide.  I am happy to come to your next club meeting and help you break down the questions and start working through them.  Completing the questions and getting STARCLUB status definitely goes in your favour when you are applying for grants through the Office for Recreation and Sport.
